Maths and homework this week.

This week we have been checking how well we can use standard, column methods for addition and subtraction.

Some children learned these methods for the first time and some used them to solve problems.

Homework this week depends on which groups you were in, and how confident you feel!

If you were taught a new method this week, or found it tricky, then use the cards we give you to practise your method and get really confident.

For those that were confidently solving problems using both addition and subtraction, then find the balancing calculations link in our maths section and have a go at some mental calculations.

Don’t forget we are having a big push on times tables too, so keep practising! (Hit the Button is great for this.)  Also you all have Mathletics accounts which you should be using as often as you can to brush up your skills in all areas of maths.

Other homework this week will include reading comprehension and spellings – remember your test is on Monday.
